Dunoon 2026
In May 2026 a group of 14 of our Silver & Gold Squad Swimmers attended a weekend training camp at Dunoon. They were accompanied by 3 team staff.
The camp was organised by Dunfermline ASC, who attended along with InCAS with a further 13 swimmers and 4 team staff between them.
Our base for the weekend was the Benmore Outdoor Activity Centre, located just outside of Dunoon, with two pool training sessions each day taking place at Dunoon Leisure Centre.
En route to Dunoon on the Friday night all swimmers had the opportunity of a "fun" swim at Gourock Outdoor Swimming pool before boarding the ferry.
Swimmers from all 3 clubs were placed in appropriate groups during training and also within the accomodation to allow integration between those attending.
With two 2hr pool sessions each day and early morning starts, the intensiity of the training was increased from their usual routines.
In between pool sessions everyone participated in outdoor activities at Benmore, led by the facility staff. With kayaking, gorge walking, mountain biking and indoor climbing on offer there was something for everyone to try something new, push their limits and build new friendships.
The final pool session provide a fun element with some sprint racing, mixed team relays and some floaty fun time, with swimmers from Dunoon and Inverclyde Swimming clubs joining in.
Before departing Dunoon everyone enjoyed a hearty meal at the Argyll Hotel, with the camp awards ceremony held in the evening sunshine at the bandstand outside. All swimmers received an award, with Evan receiving the award for Top Male over the duration of the camp.
What a great way to end 2025, with our Club Captain, Holly, lifting the Forth Valley Junior League “A” Final Trophy yesterday on behalf of the team in what turned out to be an hugely exciting Final in this FVJL’s 40th anniversary year.
Trojan were so close to lifting the League Trophy as well after finishing equal on points in the League table with Hailes, but we were just pipped to the title in an exciting swim-off to determine the League Champions.
Huge congratulations to Hailes winning the League and well done to Fauldhouse on winning the “B” Final. Big shout out to all participating clubs and swimmers for making this such a fantastic competition.
Finally, a massive thank you to our team of Trojan volunteers who helped us, as hosts, deliver such a great event.
